Logic constitutes probably the greatest lacuna that remains in Thomistic studies. Specifically, there ought to be an up-to-date text that can serve as an introduction to logic based on the texts of Aquinas, distinct from the perennially valuable traditional manuals. In order to make the Aquinas perspective more comprehensible to the modern reader, it should also keep in mind the developments of contemporary formal logic, while shedding light on Thomas’s most relevant logical intuitions and their connection with his metaphysical thought. This text, which is the fruit of thirty years of teaching and research, aims to fill this gap in philosophical studies.
