What kind of vehicle does a city like Genoa need? Set between steep hills and the sea, the city requires each mobility proposal to respond to tight spatial conditions and to find its place within the network. This book rethinks urban mobility across scales, from anthropometric and ergonomic requirements to vehicle dimensions and architecture, services and the city. Thirty-one concepts developed at the University of Genoa since 2019 test this approach, alongside research into accessibility, shared mobility, automation and generative AI. The path from Genova by Design to Design by Genova reflects a two-way exchange: context informs the project, while design offers a new way to read the city.
